Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before booking a trek with TrekNepal.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By booking a trekNepal service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services. These terms apply to all treks, tours, and services offered by TrekNepal.

2. Booking & Payment

  • A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required at the time of booking
  • Full payment must be made at least 14 days before the trek start date
  • Bookings made less than 14 days before departure require full payment upfront
  • Payment can be made via bank transfer, credit card, or accepted digital payment methods
  • All prices are quoted in USD unless otherwise specified
  • Price includes: guide, permits, accommodation, and meals as specified in the itinerary
  • Price exclude: international flights, travel insurance, personal equipment, tips, and visa fees

3. Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • More than 30 days before departure: Full refund minus deposit
  • 15-30 days before departure: 50% refund
  • 7-14 days before departure: 25% refund
  • Less than 7 days before departure: No refund
  • No-shows are non-refundable
  • Cancellations must be made in writing via email

4. Trek Cancellation by TrekNepal

We reserve the right to cancel or modify treks due to unsafe conditions including extreme weather, natural disasters, political instability, or trail closures. In such cases:

  • We will offer a full refund or rebooking at no additional charge
  • We are not responsible for additional costs incurred (flights, accommodation changes)
  • Alternative treks of similar difficulty and value will be offered when possible

5. Health & Fitness Requirements

Trekking in the Himalayas is physically demanding. By booking, you confirm that:

  • You are in good physical health and have prepared for the trek difficulty level
  • You have disclosed all medical conditions, allergies, and medications to us prior to departure
  • You understand the risks of high-altitude trekking including altitude sickness
  • You will follow the guide's safety instructions at all times
  • TrekNepal reserves the right to remove a trekker from a group if they pose a safety risk

6. Travel Insurance

All trekkers are required to have comprehensive travel insurance that covers:

  • High-altitude trekking up to the maximum altitude of your trek
  • Emergency helicopter evacuation
  • Medical expenses and hospitalization
  • Trip cancellation and interruption
  • Personal liability

Proof of insurance must be provided at least 7 days before departure.

7. Liability Limitation

While TrekNepal takes all reasonable precautions to ensure your safety, trekking in the Himalayas involves inherent risks including but not limited to:

  • Altitude sickness and related health complications
  • Extreme weather conditions
  • Rockfall, avalanches, and landslides
  • Wildlife encounters
  • Trail and terrain hazards

TrekNepal is not liable for injury, loss, or damage resulting from these inherent risks. Participants acknowledge and accept these risks voluntarily.

8. Code of Conduct

Trekkers must respect local culture, environment, and fellow group members. The following are prohibited:

  • Littering on trails or at campsites
  • Damaging flora, fauna, or cultural sites
  • Harassment of local communities or fellow trekkers
  • Consumption of illegal substances during the trek
  • Unauthorized route deviations

9. Intellectual Property

All content on our website including text, images, logos, and videos is the property of TrekNepal. Photos taken during treks by our guides may be used for promotional purposes unless you opt out in writing.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal. Any disputes shall be resolved through negotiation first, and if unresolved, through the courts of Kathmandu, Nepal.
